Heineman hits first career HR

Texas lost by a count of 10-1 Tuesday night at New York to drop to 68-72 overall and 28-43 on the road. Scott Heineman came off the bench in the ninth inning to help the Rangers avoid the shutout as he hit a solo home run, the first of his MLB career. Isiah Kiner-Falefa finished 1-for-2 with a walk. Willie Calhoun ended the game 1-for-3 plus a walk. Edinson Volquez took the loss as he gave up two earned runs on one hit with no strikeouts and one walk over one inning of work as the opener. Lance Lynn will start today for Texas as he enters with a 14-9 record, 3.77 ERA and 1.25 WHIP plus 202 strikeouts over 176 2/3 innings pitched.

Yankees score 10 in rout

New York cruised to a 10-1 victory Tuesday night at home over Texas to improve to 91-49 overall and 52-22 at home. Edwin Encarnacion helped lead the way in his first game back from injury as he finished 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs. Brett Gardner went 1-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs. Gary Sanchez was 2-for-3 with two home runs, three runs and three RBIs. Didi Gregorius ended the night 1-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs. James Paxton notched the win in a gem as he gave up just one hit with 12 strikeouts and one walk over seven shutout innings. Chad Green gets the start today for New York as he comes in with a 2-4 record, 5.01 ERA and 1.38 WHIP plus 72 strikeouts over 55 2/3 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

Texas

The Rangers are 1-4 in the last five Lynn road starts. Texas is 10-22 in its last 32 road games.

New York

The Yankees are 50-22 in their last 72 games overall. New York is 11-1 in the last 12 Green home starts.

Prediction:

Lynn has had a very good season for the Rangers, but he's thrown a lot of pitches this season and might be wearing down some. The Yankees don't exactly provide a comfortable matchup and Green has been pitching much better since his major struggles earlier this season. He will likely only see a couple innings, but Lynn has been prone to rough starts and it might be enough time for New York to establish a lead and have control from there.
