Springer HR propels Astros

George Springer hit a solo home run in the top of the 10th inning Monday afternoon to send Houston to a 3-2 victory at Milwaukee. Springer ended the contest 2-for-4 with the solo homer, a walk and two runs scored. Alex Bregman was 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Yordan Alvarez finished 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Roberto Osuna picked up the win in relief as he gave up one earned run on two hits with one strikeout and no walks over one inning. Josh James notched the save as he allowed no hits with three strikeouts and two walks over one inning. Zack Greinke will start tonight for the Astros as he enters with a 14-4 record, 2.99 ERA and 1.01 WHIP plus 158 strikeouts over 177 1/3 innings pitched.

Grandal, Yelich homer in loss

Milwaukee fell by a count of 3-2 in 10 innings at home Monday afternoon against Houston to drop to 70-67 overall and 39-30 at home. Yasmani Grandal ended the contest 1-for-3 with a solo home run plus two walks to pace the Brewers offense. Christian Yelich was 1-for-5 with a solo homer. Trent Grisham finished 1-for-4 plus a walk. Junior Guerra took the loss in relief as he allowed one earned run on two hits with two strikeouts and no walks over one inning. Jordan Lyles gets the start tonight for Milwaukee as he comes in with a 9-8 record, 4.55 ERA and 1.36 WHIP plus 122 strikeouts over 114 2/3 innings of work.

MLB Betting Trends

The Astros are 5-0 in their last five interleague games. Houston is 4-1 in the last five Greinke starts.

The Brewers are 5-1 in the last six Lyles starts. Milwaukee is 1-4 in its last five home games.

Greinke has fit in well in the Astros rotation as was expected and it still seems like he has more to offer. While Lyles has been pretty solid for Milwaukee, I like the way the Astros have been carving out victories lately and I think it continues here. Go with the road favorites in this spot.
