Rangers hammered by M's
Texas lost by a count of 11-3 at home Sunday afternoon in its series finale against Seattle to drop to 67-71 overall and 40-29 at home. Brett Martin took the loss as he surrendered four earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts and two walks over two-thirds of an inning. Rougned Odor paced the Rangers offense as he finished 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Nick Solak was 1-for-2 with a triple, a walk, a run scored and an RBI. Delino DeShields Jr. ended the game 2-for-4 with a walk and a run. Mike Minor gets the start today for Texas as he enters with an 11-8 record, 3.25 ERA and 1.20 WHIP plus 175 strikeouts over 174 1/3 innings.
Yankees win on another walk-off
Brett Gardner and Mike Ford hit back-to-back solo home runs in the bottom of the ninth inning Sunday afternoon to lead New York to a 5-4 victory over Oakland. It was the only hit in four at-bats for Gardner after striking out his first three times up, while Ford pinch-hit for the game-winner. D.J. LeMahieu ended the game 2-for-4 with a run scored to also contribute. Adam Ottavino struck out one and walked one over one scoreless inning to post the win in relief. Masahiro Tanaka gets the start tonight for New York as he comes in with a 10-7 record, 4.47 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with 128 strikeouts over 157 innings pitched.
MLB Betting Trends
The Rangers are 4-1 in their last four Minor Monday starts. Texas is 4-10 in its last 14 road games.
The Yankees are 12-2 in the last 14 Tanaka starts. New York is 9-2 in its last 11 Monday games.
New York won a couple hard-fought games against Oakland and now faces a Texas team that played in Arlington yesterday and has struggled all season on the road. The quick turnaround has me fully on board with the Yankees here.
