San Diego Padres Fantasy Spin
Manny Machado went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, a double and a pair of runs scored in the Padres’ loss to the Giants on Friday. Machado crushed a solo homer — his 28th round-tripper of the season — off Giants’ starter Madison Bumgarner in the fourth inning. He also doubled and scored a run in the ninth inning. The 27-year-old fantasy superstar owns a .264/.334/.474 triple-slash line with 72 runs scored, 28 homers, 75 RBI and five stolen bases in 557 plate appearances. He won’t return first-round value when it’s all said and done, but it’s impossible to label his first season in San Diego a disappointment. He’s been outstanding after a slow start to the year.
San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin
Mike Yastrzemski went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, a walk and three runs scored in the Giants’ win over the Padres on Friday. Yastrzemski tattooed an opposite-field shot to left field off Padres’ righty Dinelson Lamet to increase the Giants lead to 3-1 in the fifth inning. He also singled and walked in the contest, reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances on the night. The 29-year-old outfielder has been a remarkable story, hitting .267/.321/.534 with 50 runs scored, 18 home runs, 48 RBI and one stolen base in 309 plate appearances. There’s plenty of thunder in his bat and he needs to be owned in all deeper mixed leagues.

San Francisco
The Giants have also lost seven of their last 10 games and are now seven games back in the NL West.
Prediction:
The Padres are just 2-8 in their last 10 games versus the Giants and have dropped four of Joey Lucchesi’s last five starts versus San Francisco. The Padres are also just 2-6 in Lucchesi’s last eight starts and are 5-16 in his last 21 outings coming off five days of rest. San Diego has lost 17 of Lucchesi’s last 22 starts versus the rest of the National League West, too.
The Pick: San Francisco Giants -103
