Peralta homer lifts Arizona to win

The only offense for the Diamondbacks in their series opener at LA last night came via a 3-run home run by David Peralta in a 3-1 victory. It was his only hit in four at-bats. Steven Souza Jr. was 2-for-5 with a double from the leadoff spot, while Paul Goldschmidt was also 2-for-5. Ketel Marte finished the contest 2-for-4. Robbie Ray picked up the win as he allowed one earned run on four hits with nine strikeouts and two walks over 5 1/3 innings. Brad Boxberger struck out both batters he faced for his 31st save of the season.

Machado hits HR in defeat

The only run for the Dodgers on Thursday night was recorded on a Manny Machado solo home run in the sixth inning. He went 2-for-3 with the home run plus a walk. Justin Turner finished 1-for-3 with a walk, while Matt Kemp was 2-for-4. Rich Hill suffered the loss as he gave up three earned runs on six hits in five innings, striking out seven and walking none.

Greinke (13-8, 2.93 ERA) will start tonight for Arizona, while Los Angeles counters with Hyun-jin Ryu (4-1, 2.18).

MLB Betting Trends

The D-backs are 10-4 in their last 14 Friday games. Arizona is 7-1 in Greinke's last eight road starts.

Los Angeles

The Dodgers are 4-9 in the last 13 meetings. Los Angeles is 35-17 in its last 52 Friday games.

Greinke has excelled on the road lately and the D-backs have played well this season in big division series'. Ryu hasn't been off the DL long and could still be finding his form. I'm going to put my money on Arizona winning as an underdog for the second night in a row.
