Rockies fall to Cardinals
The Colorado Rockies suffered their third loss in four games by falling 10-7 to the Angels on Monday. Colorado has allowed 29 runs over the three losses. The Rockies are now 71-60 overall and 37-28 on the road. Colorado is putting up 4.73 runs per game this season while allowing 4.83 runs per contest.
Kyle Freeland takes the mound for the Rockies on Tuesday night. He is 11-7 through 26 starts this year with a 2.96 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. Freeland has 136 strikeouts and 57 walks over 158.1 innings on the mound.
Angels end long skid
The Angels put an end to their six-game losing streak on Monday with the win over the Rockies. Los Angeles is now 64-68 overall and 34-33 at home. The Angels are scoring 4.57 runs per game this year while giving up 4.39 per contest.
Noe Ramirez gets the start for the Angels on Tuesday night. He is making his first start of the season despite making 60 relief appearances. Ramirez has 80 strikeouts and 26 walks over 71.0 innings on the mound this year.
MLB Betting Trends
Colorado
The Rockies have won 13 of their last 16 Game 2’s in a series and they have won six of Freeland’s last seven interleague starts.
Los Angeles
The Angels are 22-46 in their last 68 games against a team with a winning record. However, they have won four of their last five interleague games.
Prediction:
The Angels found their hitting against the Rockies last night, but I don’t think they find it against Freeland today. The Rockies have won nine of his last 10 starts and he has allowed two runs or less in eight of those 10 starts. I like him to lock up the L.A. hitting while the Rockies are able to beat up the Angels’ bullpen. Ramirez isn’t likely to pitch deep into the game.
The Pick: Colorado Rockies -130
