Diamondbacks’ Corbin fires six innings in no-decision vs. Angels
Patrick Corbin allowed two runs on five hits over six innings and did not factor into the decision in the Diamondbacks’ win over the Angles on Tuesday. Corbin scattered five hits and struck out eight batters. A pair of RBI base hits in the second inning accounted for all of the damage against him in this one. The 29-year-old lefty 4-0 with a 2.97 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and a sparkling 49/4 K/BB ratio in six starts since the All-Star break. He’s whiffed at least seven batters in each start during that span. Corbin is 10-4 with a 3.97 ERA and 198/39 K/BB ratio in 26 starts.
Giants’ Stratton solid in no-decision vs. Mets
Chris Stratton yielded two runs in 6 1/3 innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Mets. Stratton gave up 18 runs over 12 2/3 innings in his previous three major league starts, which is why he had spent most of the last seven weeks in the minors. The Giants will probably give him several more starts over the remainder of the season, but he shouldn’t be present on fantasy teams.
