Yankees’ Severino strikes out eight in win over Blue Jays
Luis Severino improved to 16-6 on the season after allowing two runs in five innings against the Blue Jays on Saturday. He walked two and gave up six hits while striking out eight. This was a nice bounce-back start for Severino who has been struggling and had a 7.50 ERA over his last seven starts prior to Saturday.
Orioles’ Bundy knocked around again in loss to Blue Jays
Dylan Bundy struggled again Tuesday, getting charged with seven runs over four-plus innings in a loss to the Blue Jays. The home run ball once again hurt Bundy, as he served up a trio of solo shots and has now surrendered a league-high 33 dingers on the season. It wasn’t just the longball, though, as the Jays piled up 10 hits over his four-plus frames. Bundy has now given up at least five runs in six of eight starts since the beginning of July, pushing his ERA from 3.75 all the way up to 5.31. He’ll face Toronto again in his next start, with that one coming at home.
MLB Betting Trends
New York
The Yankees are 7-1 in their last eight games and 6-0 in their last six divisional games.
Baltimore
The Orioles are 0-4 in Bundy’s last four starts and are 3-15 in his last 18 outings versus American League East rivals.
Prediction:
The Yankees have won four straight games in Baltimore, are 5-1 in their last six games overall, and are 4-1 in Severino’s last five starts versus the O’s. The Yankees are also 15-3 in Severino’s last 18 starts versus a team with a losing record, is 38-15 in his last 53 starts and 8-3 in his last 11 road outings. Given how much the Orioles have struggled with Bundy on the mound, New York has value in the runline.
The Pick: New York Yankees -1.5 (-165)
