Red Sox’ Eovaldi scuffles vs. Twins in his last start
Nathan Eovaldi was touched up for four runs on 10 hits and a walk over 5 1/3 frames in Tuesday’s loss to the Indians. The Tribe had a runner thrown out at home in the second inning and reliever Joe Kelly stranded one of Eovaldi’s runners in the sixth, so it could’ve been worse. After two brilliant outings to begin his Red Sox tenure, Eovaldi has struggled the last three times out with a 6.23 ERA and a whopping 27 hits allowed over 13 innings.
Rays’ Snell strikes out 11, lowers his ERA to 2.07
Blake Snell fanned 11 Royals while allowing only one run over six innings in Tuesday’s victory. It’s hard to believe Snell didn’t have more trouble against a lineup that featured Hunter Dozier in the cleanup spot and Rosell Herrera batting fifth. Snell has allowed just two runs over 20 innings since coming off the disabled list at the beginning of the month. He’s racked up 160 strikeouts in 139 innings on the season and his ERA is down to 2.07.
