Diamondbacks’ offense struggles again
Arizona has only scored a total of one run in its first two games of a series at Milwaukee as it fell 4-0 Saturday. Ketel Marte went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk to pace the Diamondbacks offense, while Jarrod Dyson was also 1-for-3 with a double. Christian Walker ended the contest 2-for-4. Zac Gallen took the loss as he gave up two earned runs on six hits with eight strikeouts and two walks over five innings. Robbie Ray takes the mound this afternoon as he enters with a 10-7 record, 3.99 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with 187 strikeouts over 142 innings.
Anderson, bullpen combine on shutout
Milwaukee recorded a 4-0 shutout win over visiting Arizona Saturday to improve to 67-62 overall and 38-26 at home. Chase Anderson picked up the win as he gave up three hits with five strikeouts and two walks over five shutout innings. Eric Thames helped lead the Brewers offense as he finished 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Trent Grisham went 1-for-3 with a solo homer. Keston Hiura was 1-for-4 with two RBIs. Zach Davies gets the start today for Milwaukee as he comes in with an 8-6 record, 3.74 ERA and 1.38 WHIP with 82 strikeouts over 127 2/3 innings pitched.
MLB Betting Trends
Arizona
The Diamondbacks are 2-5 in their last seven road games. Arizona is 6-2 in the last eight Ray starts.
Milwaukee
The Brewers are 8-3 in their last 11 home games. Milwaukee is 0-4 in the last four Davies starts.
Prediction:
The D-backs’ offense is due to bust out in a big way and Davies doesn’t exactly pose an intimidating threat. Ray, on the other hand, does the ability to be dominant with a high strikeout rate and solid track record. Ray can be erratic, but I’m going to roll the dice on him pitching well today and getting enough support from an offense that is going to wake up one of these days.
