San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin
Scooter Gennett struck out all three times he was up Thursday against the Cubs. Gennett has been a little better for the Giants than he was for the Reds, but he’s still struggling mightily, having hit .231/.250/.331 with an incredible 39/2 K/BB ratio in 136 plate appearances. He has almost as many strikeouts as total bases (43) this season.
Oakland A’s Fantasy Spin
Mark Canha went 2-for-4 with a two-run single in a win over the Yankees on Thursday. Canha came through with arguably the biggest hit of the night in the first inning when he reached out and guided a Masahiro Tanaka pitch back through the middle of the infield for a two-run single. He’s now the owner of a modest seven-game hitting streak during which he’s batting .428 with two homers, eight RBI and four runs scored. The hot stretch has his season line looking healthier as well, up to .269/.385/.517 with 19 homers in 94 games through Thursday.
