Yankees’ Lynn lets in five runs in four frames versus Jays
Lance Lynn surrendered five runs in four-plus innings against the Blue Jays and did not earn a decision on Friday. He gave up a four-spot in the first inning, allowing RBI hits to Kendrys Morales, Kevin Pillar and Aledmys Dias in the frame. This was his first clunker in a Yankee uniform after joining the team in a deadline trade with the Twins. He had an ugly 5.10 ERA in 20 starts with the Twins prior to the trade but had allowed just one run in 16 2/3 innings since joining the Yankees. Today’s beating takes some of the shine off his ERA in pinstripes, which went from 0.54 to 2.61 today.
Marlins’ Richards allows five runs vs. Braves
Trevor Richards was roughed up for five runs and 10 hits in 4 1/3 innings by the Braves on Tuesday. It’s the first time in seven starts that he’s allowed more than three runs. Richards has looked pretty good as a rookie, but not so good that it’s resulted in fantasy value for a Miami team that’s really struggled to score runs. Richards is just 3-7 despite having six outings in which he’s pitched at least six innings and allowed one or no runs.
