Swanson has two-HR night
Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson hit his 11th and 12th home runs of the season Tuesday night in a 6-1 victory at Pittsburgh. He was 2-for-4 with the two long balls and drove in four runs. Ronald Acuna Jr. walked twice in five plate appearances. Freddie Freeman went 1-for-4 with a walk, while Kurt Suzuki finished 2-for-3 with a double plus two runs and an RBI. Kevin Gausman earned the win as he threw eight shutout innings, allowing four hits with five strikeouts and two walks.
Pirates held to five hits
All that kept Pittsburgh from being shut out last night was a solo home run by Gregory Polanco in the bottom of the ninth inning. He finished 1-for-3 with the homer plus a walk. Francisco Cervelli was also 1-for-3 with a double and a walk. Ivan Nova took the loss as he gave up two earned runs on four hits with four strikeouts and no walks over six innings.
MLB Betting Trends
The under is 10-4 in the last 14 Braves games on Wednesdays. Atlanta is 4-9 in the last 13 meetings in Pittsburgh.
The Pirates are 2-7 in their last nine games overall. The over is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings.
Williams has been on a very nice run since the All-Star Game and will look to salvage a game for the Pirates today. But he will be backed by a struggling offense and if Teheran is on his game, I think the better team will prevail. After getting swept last weekend at home, Atlanta has a chance to offset some of that by getting the sweep here. I like the road underdog here.
