New York Yankees Fantasy Spin
Aaron Judge walloped a solo homer in the Yankees’ loss to the Athletics on Tuesday. Judge launched a stratospheric solo shot to left field off Athletics’ reliever Joakim Soria in the eighth inning, which snapped a 13-game homerless drought dating back to August 4. It was his lone hit in four at-bats. The 27-year-old slugger has endured an injury-plagued campaign, but has still posted solid numbers when healthy, hitting .265/.385/.463 with 49 runs scored, 13 home runs, 34 RBI and a pair of stolen bases in 310 plate appearances. If he’s healthy, he’s an early-round selection in all fantasy formats next spring.
Oakland A’s Fantasy Spin
Mark Canha went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and a pair of runs scored in the Athletics’ victory over the Yankees on Tuesday. Canha went back-to-back with teammate Matt Olson in the opening frame, slugging a solo shot to right-center field off Yankees’ starter Domingo German to give the Athletics an early 3-1 lead, which they never relinquished. He also doubled and scored a run in the sixth and walked in the eighth inning. The 30-year-old lefty-masher has emerged as a key cog in the Athletics’ offense, swatting a career-high 19 home runs in just 345 plate appearances this season. He’s worthy of a roster spot in deeper fantasy formats, especially those that use on-base percentage as a category, over the final month of the regular season.
