Lopez, Didi homers propel Royals

Kansas City hit a pair of home runs in the seventh inning Monday night to open its series at Baltimore with a 5-4 victory. Nicky Lopez helped pace the Royals offensively by going 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored. Nick Dini went 1-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs. Hunter Dozier finished 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs. Jorge Lopez picked up the win as he allowed one earned run on two hits with two strikeouts and one walk over five innings. Ian Kennedy notched the save as he gave up one earned run on two hits with one strikeout and no walks over an inning of work. Brad Keller takes the mound tonight for KC as he enters with a 7-13 record, 4.10 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with 117 strikeouts over 158 innings pitched.

O's edged at home

Baltimore lost by a count of 5-4 at home Monday night versus Kansas City to drop to 39-86 overall and 18-44 at home. Jonathan Villar helped lead the Orioles offense as he finished 2-for-4 with a solo home run plus a walk. Rio Ruiz was 1-for-2 with a solo homer and two walks. D.J. Stewart ended the contest 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. John Means took the loss as he gave up three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking two. Dylan Bundy draws the start tonight for Baltimore as he comes in with a 5-13 record, 5.25 ERA and 1.34 WHIP with 122 strikeouts over 120 innings of work.

MLB Betting Trends

Kansas City

The Royals are 36-79 in their last 115 road games. Kansas City is 0-4 in the last four Keller starts.

The Orioles are 16-35 in their last 51 Tuesday games. Baltimore is 16-41 in the last 57 Bundy starts.

Baltimore is on an eight-game losing streak and it's hard to take it seriously as a favorite tonight, even against the lowly Royals. Both starting pitchers have had an uneven season, but I'll go with the ground ball guy in a home run haven. That's Keller and I think he's effective enough tonight to send KC to another win and continue the lengthy O's losing skid.
