Twins seek sweep
Minnesota has taken the first three games of the series after earning a 12-7 win over the Rangers last night. Minnesota is 75-48 overall, 39-22 on the road and 63-53 with the over. Martin Perez gets the start today. He is 8-5 on the season with a 4.57 ERA.
The Twins started fast on Saturday, putting up six runs in the first inning to lead the whole game. Miguel Sano and C.J. Cron each homered in the win and both drove in two runs. Marwin Gonzalez added three hits and two RBI while Mitch Garver also drove in two runs. Jose Berrios struggled in his start, allowing seven runs over 4.1 innings. However, just three runs were earned. Tyler Duffey got the win in relief to improve to 4-1 on the year.
Rangers drop another
Texas has lost nine of its last 11 games following another loss to the Twins last night. The Rangers are 60-63 overall, 35-25 at home and 62-57 with the under. Lance Lynn gets the start for Texas tonight. He is 14-8 on the season with a 3.54 ERA.
Ariel Jurado took the loss for Texas on Saturday. He only pitched two innings and allowed eight runs on seven hits, but just two runs were earned. At the plate, Danny Santana had two home runs and drove in four runs to lead the Rangers. Shin-Soo Choo added three hits and scored a run for Texas.
MLB Betting Trends
Minnesota
The Twins are 6-1 in their last seven road games against a right-handed starter and 28-9 in their last 37 road games against a losing team.
Texas
The Rangers are 7-19 in their last 26 games following a loss and 7-22 in their last 29 Game 4’s of a series.
Prediction:
Perez is coming off a solid start against the Brewers on the road to snap out of a bad streak. He did struggle earlier this year against the Rangers, giving up four runs over six innings. Lynn has been pretty steady as of late, allowing one earned run in each of his last four starts. Lynn has an impressive 9-1 record at home and I give him the edge today. He has been more consistent and it’s tough to get a four-game sweep on the road. I think the Rangers find enough hitting against Perez to give Lynn the run support he needs to win.
MLB Prediction: Texas Rangers -125
