Giants vs. Reds Prediction
The San Francisco Giants were unable to complete the sweep earlier this week at the rival Los Angeles Dodgers, but still managed to win two out of three. Will San Francisco start its next road series off on the right foot tonight at the Cincinnati Reds?

Giants fall in extras
San Francisco won the first two games at Los Angeles, but was unable to complete the sweep Wednesday as it fell 4-3 in 12 innings. Andrew McCutchen led the way by going 1-for-4 with a 3-run homer and a walk. Hunter Pence finished 3-for-5 with a run. Casey Kelly took the loss as he gave up one earned run on two while walking two and striking out none over 1 1/3 innings.
Reds swept at home by Indians
Cincinnati blew a 3-0 lead at home to Cleveland on Wednesday, falling 4-3 to drop its fourth game in a row. Jose Peraza helped lead the Reds offense by going 3-for-5 with three doubles and a run. Scooter Gennett finished 2-for-4 with a walk, a run and an RBI. Preston Tucker was 1-for-2 with a home run, a walk and two RBIs. Tucker Barnhart went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk. Billy Hamilton was 2-for-4 with a walk. Cody Reed suffered the loss in relief as he surrendered two earned runs on three hits with one strikeout and one walk over 3 2/3 innings.
Kelly (0-1, 1.42 ERA) will start today for the Giants, while the Reds counter with Anthony DeSclafani (6-3, 4.46).
MLB Betting Trends
San Francisco
The under is 16-5-2 in the last 23 Giants road games. San Francisco is 7-1 in its last eight games following an off day.
Cincinnati
The Reds are 0-4 in their last four home games. Cincinnati is 12-5 in its last 17 starts by DeSclafani in game one of a series.
Prediction:
San Francisco used strong pitching and timely hitting to win two out of three in LA, while the Reds seem to be mailing it in right now although they could lose to much worse teams than Cleveland. Kelly is drawing the start here due to an injury to Dereck Rodriguez (hamstring) and he only pitched two days ago, so it might be a short outing. I like DeSclafani and the Reds to bounce back from their poor play to take advantage of a spot starter plus a team in the midst of a road trip.
