Cleveland Indians Fantasy Spin
Carlos Santana went 3-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI and four runs scored in a mammoth victory over the Yankees on Thursday. He ripped a two-run bomb in the fourth inning to put the Indians into the double-figure range in runs -- and they were just getting started. Santana added a solo shot in the eighth to cap off the scoring for the Indians with their 19th run of the game. The 33-year-old veteran is well on his way to the best season of his career unless he falls off a cliff down the stretch. He has a .290/.413/.553 slash line with 29 home runs, 75 RBI, 89 runs scored and four stolen bases in 119 games. He needs five homers, one run and 12 RBI to match his career highs and he still has six weeks to get it done. His current .967 OPS would smash his previous career high by more than 100 points.
New York Yankees Fantasy Spin
Didi Gregorius went 3-for-4 and smacked a solo home run as the Bronx Bombers got pounded into dust by the Indians on Thursday. He found an Adam Plutko offering to his liking in the fifth inning and deposited it into the cheap seats in right field for his 10th longball of the season. He also singled twice in the contest. The shortstop has been pretty good with the bat since returning from Tommy John surgery that cost him the first two months of the season. He has a .271 batting average with 10 homers and 37 RBI in 50 games.
