Jays fall at KC
The Blue Jays dropped this series opener on Monday, losing 3-1. It was their third loss in four games and they have scored just four runs in the four games. Toronto is 53-65 overall and 24-33 on the road. Toronto is putting up 4.43 runs per game on offense this year while allowing 5.06 per contest.
Ryan Borucki gets the start for the Blue Jays on Tuesday night. He is making his ninth start of the season and comes into today with a 2-2 record, a 2.81 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP. Borucki has pitched a total of 48.0 innings and has 32 strikeouts with 14 walks.
Royals end skid
The Royals seek their first two-game win streak in weeks as they snapped a 3-game losing streak on Monday with the 3-1 win. Kansas City is 36-82 overall and 17-42 at home. The Royals are scoring just 3.65 runs per game this season while allowing 5.47 per contest.
Heath Fillmyer gets the start for the Royals this evening. He is making his sixth start of the year. Fillmyer comes in with a 1-1 record, a 3.13 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP. Fillmyer has pitched a total of 37.1 innings and has 21 strikeouts with 17 walks
MLB Betting Trends
Toronto
The Blue Jays have won four of Borucki’s last five starts and they are 19-7 in their last 26 games against a team with a winning percent below .400.
Kansas City
The Royals have lost nine of their last 10 when Fillmyer has taken the mound and they are just 17-43 in their last 60 home games.
Prediction:
This is an interesting pitching matchup as both guys don’t have a lot of experience this year, but their numbers are pretty strong. Fillmyer hasn’t gotten much run support at all, while Borucki has been in recent outings. I think Toronto can get to Fillmyer and the KC bullpen while I expect the Royals to continue their struggles at the plate. Toronto has more fire power than KC on most nights.
The Pick: Toronto Blue Jays -140
