Padres vs. Dodgers Prediction
Will the Padres and Dodgers fall under the betting total again tonight when they meet at 9:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Dodgers are -240 money line favorites versus the Padres, who have odds of +210 to pull off another upset. With Jhoulys Chacin set to face Hyun-Jin Ryu in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 8 runs.
From Rotoworld: Chacin gave up five earned runs over six innings Monday in a loss to the Reds. His struggles on the road continue. Chacin walked three batters and surrendered five hits -- including two home runs -- as he fell to 4-6 with a 7.36 ERA in 11 starts away from Petco Park. He is 7-2 with a 1.86 ERA in 12 starts at home. Up next for the 29-year-old right-hander is a daunting duel at Dodger Stadium.
Ryu was dominant in Sunday's victory over the Mets, allowing just one hit over seven shutout innings. Ryu punched out eight on the night and didn't walk a batter. He surrendered nothing but a lowly single to Mets' catcher Travis d'Arnaud, mixing and matching his pitches to perfection. The 30-year-old southpaw has been masterful in each of his last two starts and now boasts a 3.53 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 89/26 K/BB ratio across 91 2/3 innings this season. He'll look to extend his recent dominance when he takes on Padres on Sunday.
OUR PREDICTION: The under is 4-1 in Ryu's last five starts versus the Padres, are 11-4 in the last 15 meetings in Los Angeles, and is 5-1 in his last six starts versus National League West opponents. On the other side, the under is 4-1-1 in the Padres' last five games versus a team with a winning record and is 2-0-3 in Chacin's last five starts versus National League West opponents.
SATURDAY MLB PREDICTION: PADRES/DODGERS UNDER 8
