Washington Nationals Fantasy Spin
Juan Soto went 2-for-3 with two homers, a walk, and three RBI in Saturday’s loss to the Mets. Soto gave the Nats an early lead with a two-run blast off Noah Syndergaard in the first inning. It didn’t last, as the Mets tied things up in the fourth inning. Soto put the Nats ahead again with a solo blast off Seth Lugo in the top of the eighth, but the Mets took the lead back for good in the bottom of the frame. This was the fourth multi-homer game of Soto’s brief major league career. He’s slashing .289/.401/.543 with 24 home runs and 77 RBI over 108 games this season.
New York Mets Fantasy Spin
J.D. Davis went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and a go-ahead sacrifice fly in Saturday’s 4-3 victory over the Nationals. Make that eight straight wins for the Amazins. Davis and Wilson Ramos went back-to-back against Patrick Corbin in the fourth inning to tie the game. The Nats took the lead back in the top of the eighth inning, but Luis Guillorme tied things up with a solo homer in the bottom of the frame before Davis delivered the decisive sacrifice fly. The acquisition of Davis didn’t get as much attention as some of the other moves by Brodie Van Wagenen this past offseason, but he’s been crucial to the team’s success. He owns an impressive .308/.373/.525 batting line with 14 home runs and 38 RBI through 100 games. He’s playing regularly right now and makes for a useful pickup in most mixed fantasy leagues.
