He sailed through the first five frames without letting in a run then hit a wall in the sixth. He gave up a solo home run to Chris Taylor and a two-run bomb to Cody Bellinger before being relieved. Lugo struck out five batters, issued two walks and surrendered four base hits. He has a 4.55 ERA and 1.34 WHIP after 10 starts and one relief appearance.
Pivetta was lit up for eight runs — six earned — over 2 2/3 innings Saturday in the Phillies’ loss to the Rockies. Pivetta gave up five runs in the bottom of the first inning and another three in the bottom of the third while falling to 4-7 on the season with a 5.89 ERA. The 24-year-old right-hander will face the Mets at home next.
