Giants vs. Nationals Prediction
Are the Nationals a safe bet tonight on the runline against the Giants when the teams open a new series at 7:05PM ET in D.C.?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Nationals are -175 money line favorites versus the Giants, who have odds of +140 to pull off the upset. With Chris Stratton set to face Edwin Jackson in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 10 runs.

From Rotoworld: Stratton allowed three runs — two earned — over five innings Saturday in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks. San Francisco would go on to win the game in extras, but Stratton didn’t really help the cause. He gave up two runs in the first inning and one more in the fifth, walking four total batters and surrendering five hits. The right-hander will bring a 6.63 ERA and 1.74 WHIP into his next start on the road versus the NL East-leading Nationals.
Jackson yielded four earned runs over five innings Saturday in a loss to the Cubs. Jackson struck out eight batters and issued zero walks, but the Cubs got to him for six hits — three of the extra-base variety. The veteran right-hander stands 2-2 on the season with a 4.34 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and 22/9 K/BB ratio in four starts and three relief appearances covering 29 innings. He’s lined up to face the Giants at home next.
Bet Tonight’s Giants vs. Nationals Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Giants have lost four straight meetings with the Nationals, have dropped five of six games in D.C., and are just 1-5 in their last six road games versus a team with a winning home record. On the other side, the Nationals have won four of their last five games, are 4-1 in their last five home games, and are 15-6 in their last 21 games versus National League West opponents. Both starters have struggled of late, but I have more faith in Washington’s lineup to take advantage of Stratton than I do San Francisco’s offense versus Jackson.
