Red Sox’ Eovaldi blanks Yankees for eight strong innings
Nathan Eovaldi put up zeroes for eight innings Saturday, leading the Red Sox to a 4-1 win over the Yankees. It’s early, but the best trade of the deadline is shaping up to be the one that brought Eovaldi to the Red Sox. Through two starts, he’s now fired 15 scoreless innings, allowing seven hits and a walk while striking out nine. He’s got a nice 3.38 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 62/9 K/BB ratio across 72 innings overall, but his performance with the Sox has been nothing short of stellar. He’s a must-start for his next start Friday against the depleted Orioles.
Orioles’ Bundy battles but takes loss against Rangers in last start
Dylan Bundy kept the Rangers to two runs — one earned — over six innings but took the loss Saturday. Bundy gave up seven hits and walked two over his six innings of work, but he was outdueled by Rangers starter Mike Minor. The loss dropped him to 7-10 overall with a 4.38 ERA and 1.27 WHIP through 21 starts. Wins might be hard to come by for Bundy and his Orioles rotation mates as we head down the home stretch, and that’s doubly true his next time out when the O’s get a visit from the AL East-leading Red Sox.
MLB Betting Trends
