Yankees complete sweep
New York won its third straight game at the White Sox last night, prevailing by a count of 7-3. Giancarlo Stanton led the way as he went 1-for-4 with a grand slam plus a walk. Aaron Hicks ended the game 1-for-4 with a solo home run plus a walk. Gleyber Torres finished 1-for-3 with two walks and a run. Luis Severino earned the win as he allowed three earned runs on seven hits with eight strikeouts and no walk over seven innings.
Rangers pound out 19 hits
Rougned Odor went 2-for-5 with a triple and an RBI as every Texas batter had at least one hit in last night’s 11-7 home win over the Mariners. Elvis Andrus went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs. Adrian Beltre finished 1-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs. Joey Gallo was 2-for-5 with two home runs and four RBIs. Isiah Kiner-Falefa finished 3-for-5 with two doubles and three runs. Ronald Guzman was 3-for-5 with a double, a run and two RBIs. Willie Calhoun ended the night 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Yovani Gallardo picked up the win as he allowed two earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts and three walks over six innings.
Ariel Jurado (2-1, 4.02 ERA) gets the start today for the Rangers, while the Yankees turn to J.A. Happ (11-6, 4.05).
MLB Betting Trends
Texas
The Rangers are 9-3 in their last 12 games overall. Texas is 6-2 in its last eight games following a win.
New York
The Yankees are 57-19 in their last 76 home games. New York is 3-7 in its last 10 home games versus Texas.
Prediction:
The Yankees righted their ship in Chicago and now have the pitching advantage by a wide margin here. Happ is coming off the DL after dealing with hand, foot and mouth disease. If he is back to 100 percent, he should give New York quality innings as long as he is in the game. Jurado shouldn’t fool too many bats. I’m thinking the Yankees win by multiple runs today.
