Jonathan Villar went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss to the Phillies. Villar went yard for a solo shot in the ninth inning of Friday's loss to the Mets, too. Deja vu all over again one day later, with Villar's solo home run keeping alive a Mets rally that would ultimately result in back-to-back-to-back home runs for the trio of Michael Conforto, Villar and James McCann. That action just wasn't enough for the win, though, and the comeback attempt fizzled out after McCann's home run left the park. Overall this season, Villar is slashing a forgettable .237/.315/.420 with 12 home runs, 26 RBI and eight steals in 91 games.
Philadelphia Phillies DFS Spin
Ian Kennedy recorded his second save with the Phillies while tossing a scoreless ninth inning in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Mets. Kennedy is just now starting to settle in with the Phillies after spending the first half of the campaign plying his trade for the Rangers. He should not have had to enter Saturday's contest at all, but Mauricio Llovera gave up three consecutive home runs to cut his team's lead down to two runs, leading to Kennedy's entrance. He fanned two during his time on the mound. Kennedy was a sterling 16-of-17 in save opportunities with the Rangers prior to being moved over to Philadelphia.
