Dodgers' Hill allows two runs over six innings in no-decision
Rich Hill allowed two runs over six innings with a walk and four strikeouts in a no decision against the Brewers on Wednesday. Things got off to an inauspicious start for Hill, as he gave up a triple to Lorenzo Cain to begin the game that ostensibly turned into a homer after Brian Dozier’s throwing error allowed Cain to score. He also allowed Cain to score in the third on a wild pitch. Outside of those two plays, it was smooth sailing for the left-hander, who has been on a role as of late. He’s allowed a total of two earned runs in his last three starts, and that’s seen Hill’s ERA lower to 3.63 from the 4.26 it stood at before that run. He’ll have a fun match-up on Tuesday when he faces the A’s.
A's Manaea holds Blue Jays in check in victory
Sean Manaea spun six-plus innings of one-run ball in the Athletics' 8-3 victory over the Blue Jays on Wednesday. The A's offense provided Manaea with plenty of cushion in this one, but the left-hander didn't really need it. He yielded five hits and two walks on the day, with the only run charged to him coming after he had been pulled following a leadoff single in the seventh. The five strikeouts tie a high for Manaea over his last seven starts, as he's been a disappointment in the punchout department this season. The southpaw gets the Dodgers next.
MLB Betting Trends
The Dodgers have won four of Hill's last five starts.
The A's are 6-1 in their last seven interleague home games.
I see a ton of value in Oakland tonight. The A's are 14-2 in their last 16 home games, are 36-15 in their last 51 games overall and are 8-2 in Manaea's last 10 starts. Meanwhile, the Dodgers are just 1-10 in their last 11 games played at the Oakland Coliseum and are 2-7 in their last nine games versus the A's overall.
The Pick: Oakland A's +110
