Houston Astros DFS SPIN
Martín Maldonado went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and three RBI on Thursday in the Astros’ lopsided win over the Guardians. Maldonado hasn’t supplied much from an offensive standpoint this season, but he delivered in this one, socking a two-run double off Guardians righty Nick Sandlin in the fifth inning before taking lefty Kirk McCarty deep for a solo shot — his 11th long ball of the season — in the seventh inning. The 35-year-old defensive stalwart is hitting .178/.242/.356 with 11 homers and 33 RBI in 272 plate appearances this season.
Cleveland Guardians DFS SPIN
Steven Kwan went 1-for-4 on Thursday in the Guardians’ shutout loss to the Astros. Kwan was responsible for one of three singles for the Guardians in a shutout loss at the hands of the Astros. It was veteran stalwart Justin Verlander and three Astros’ relievers that combined on a three-hitter in Cleveland. The 24-year-old rookie outfielder has held his own this season, slashing .297/.369/.381 with 51 runs scored, two home runs, 28 RBI and nine stolen bases across 389 plate appearances.
