Three players have three-hit nights for Cards
Yadier Molina helped lead St. Louis to a 6-3 win last night over Colorado as he finished 3-for-5 with a double, a run and two RBIs. Marcell Ozuna was 3-for-5 with an RBI. Harrison Bader ended the game 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and two runs. Austin Gomber earned the win as he allowed a walk with two strikeouts in an inning of work.
Arenado reaches base three times
Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run and an RBI in last night’s loss. Trevor Story was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Kyle Freeland surrendered three earned runs on nine hits with five strikeouts and three walks over 5 1/3 innings to take the loss.
Antonio Senzatela (4-3, 5.01 ERA) gets the start today for Colorado, while St. Louis counters with Miles Mikolas (11-3, 2.83).
MLB Betting Trends
Colorado
The Rockies are 20-7 in their last 27 games overall. The under is 5-3-1 in the last nine Colorado games overall.
St. Louis
The over is 8-3 in the last 11 Cardinals home games. St. Louis is 36-16 in the last 52 meetings.
Prediction:
Mikolas has enjoyed a very solid season despite the up-and-down nature of the Cardinals as a whole. With the struggles of Senzatela coupled with a St. Louis lineup that has several hot hitters at the moment, I think the desperate Cards get the job done here.
