Reds drop both at Tigers
Cincinnati dropped a 7-4 decision at Detroit Wednesday afternoon, its second straight loss to the Tigers. Eugenio Suarez, Mason Williams and Patrick Ervin helped pace the Reds by each going 2-for-4 with a run. Curt Casali finished 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and two RBIs. Billy Hamilton was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Sal Romano suffered the loss as he allowed four earned runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings, striking out three and walking none.
Milone outduels Syndergaard
Nationals lefty Tommy Milone threw seven stellar innings to get the win Wednesday afternoon in a 5-3 home triumph over the Mets. Milone got the win opposing New York starter Noah Syndergaard, who allowed three earned runs over seven innings. He gave up one earned run on three hits with nine strikeouts and no walks. Kelvin Herrera earned his second trade since being traded to the Nats, giving up one earned run on two hits with one strikeout and one walk in one inning of work. Trea Turner helped lead the offense as he was 1-for-4 with a double, two stolen bases and three runs. Anthony Rendon was 1-for-4 with a 2-run homer. Bryce Harper was 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI.
MLB Betting Trends
Cincinnati
The over is 10-1 in the last 11 Reds road games. Cincinnati is 4-9 in its last 13 Thursday games.
Washington
The Nationals are 7-2 in their last nine home games. Washington is 18-6 in Scherzer’s last 24 home starts.
Prediction:
Washington might finally be pulling out of its rut as the last two wins have pushed it above .500, but it is also a bit hard to tell since it came against the Mets. But with how much talent is on the Nationals roster, it seems like a streak has to happen at some point. Scherzer is the right pitcher to have on the mound to keep the winning ways going and since the Washington offense is hot right now, a runline bet seems smart here.
