From Rotoworld: Bridwell allowed two runs on five hits over seven innings in Sunday’s win over the Red Sox. Bridwell was not striking out batters left and right in this one, finishing with just three of them (against one walk) over his seven innings of work. He was fantastic nonetheless. Deven Marrero knocked him for an RBI single in the fifth and Hanley Ramirez socked a solo homer off the right-hander in the sixth, but that was all she wrote in terms of scoring on Bridwell’s watch. He will bring a 3.09 ERA and 1.29 WHIP (seven starts) into a home date with the Blue Jays in his next scheduled outing.
Happ was pounded for seven earned runs over six innings Sunday in a loss to the Indians. Cleveland pounced for four runs in the bottom of the first inning on three singles, a walk, and a bases-clearing double by Brandon Guyer. Happ settled in a bit from there, but the damage was done and opposing starter Corey Kluber flat-out dominated Toronto’s lineup. Happ will carry a 3-7 record and 4.13 ERA into his next outing at home versus the Angels.
