Cubs vs. White Sox Prediction
Will the Cubs pick up yet another victory against their cross-town rivals the White Sox tonight at 8:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the White Sox are +200 money line underdogs to beat the Cubs, who have odds of -220 to win tonight on the road. With Jon Lester set to take on Mike Pelfrey in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 10.5 runs.

From Rotoworld: Lester yielded three hits and two runs over eight sparkling frames Saturday in a victory against the Cardinals. Lester racked up 10 strikeouts and didn’t allow a free pass. The left-hander was brilliant on Saturday, going toe-to-toe with Adam Wainwright in an epic pitcher’s duel at Wrigley Field. Lester retired the first 17 hitters he faced before Wainwright broke up his perfect game with a two-out single in the sixth inning. Despite his dominance, Lester ended the afternoon on a sour note by allowing back-to-back home runs to Paul DeJong and Randal Grichuk in the eighth inning. Lester has been picture-perfect since his meltdown against the Pirates on July 9 (10 runs in 2/3 of an inning), compiling a stunning 1.80 ERA over his last two outings. He’ll take a 7-6 record into his next start Thursday against the White Sox.
Pelfrey held the Royals to one run on two hits, albeit with six walks, over five innings in a no-decision Saturday. Pelfrey had trouble throwing strikes but it worked for him, as he kept the Royals offense off-balance for most of the night. Unfortunately for Big Pelf, he pitches for the White Sox, so he can’t have nice things like wins. The no-decision leaves his record at 3-7 with a 4.46 ERA and 1.45 WHIP through 18 appearances, including 16 starts, to date. The 33-year-old will seek the elusive win Thursday against the Cubs.
Bet Tonight’s Cubs vs. White Sox Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Cubs have won six straight games on the road and are now 8-1 against the spread on the road as well. So if you feel comfortable laying the steep price of -220 on the money line, the Cubs are a great play, or if you want to minizmize the risk, they’ve been a solid runline play as well. That said, I’m going with the over tonight, which is 7-3 in the White Sox’ last 10 games at home and is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings between these two rivals.
THURSDAY MLB PREDICTION: CUBS/WHITE SOX OVER 10.5
