From Rotoworld: Mets pitching prospect Chris Flexen will be called up to make his major league debut Thursday in San Diego. He’s taking Zack Wheeler’s (arm) spot in the rotation. Flexen, 23, has had a fantastic season after coming back from knee surgery, posting a 1.76 ERA and 63/10 K/BB ratio over 61 1/3 innings between High- and Double-A. He’s ranked by MLB.com as the Mets’ No. 22 prospect.
Perdomo let in four runs — one earned — through six innings and settled for a no-decision as his team lost to the Giants in extra innings on Saturday.
He surrendered eight base hits and two walks while striking out four in the ballgame. An error on shortstop Allen Cordoba led to three unearned runs in the fourth inning. Perdomo helped himself at the plate by driving in two runs with a triple in the fourth inning. Prior to last season Perdomo was plucked from the Cardinals’ system as a Rule 5 draft pick and jumped from Single-A ball straight to the major leagues. His record holds at 4-5 with a 4.94 ERA and 1.54 WHIP in 16 starts this season. He has 73 strikeouts and 35 walks in 91 2/3 innings.
