From Rotoworld: Fiers was outstanding in Friday’s victory over the Orioles, racking up nine strikeouts over seven innings of one-run ball. Fiers scattered six hits and a walk on the impressive evening. The only blemish on his night came on an RBI single by Jonathan Schoop in the third inning. He has been pitching out of his mind for awhile now, compiling a 2.36 ERA over his last 10 starts. He’ll carry a 3.59 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 107/38 K/BB ratio into Wednesday’s matchup against the Phillies in Philadelphia.
Nola held the Brewers to just one run over eight innings as part of a 6-1 victory on Friday. Nola gave up a solo homer to Brett Phillips in the second inning, but otherwise he held the Brewers off the board. He tied a career-high with nine strikeouts and walked a pair in the victory. Nola now owns a 1.70 ERA over his last six starts, once again showing that he’s capable of being a frontline starter when healthy.
