From Rotoworld: Adleman struck out seven batters while allowing three runs in six innings against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday. He surrendered seven base hits without issuing a walk in the quality start. The 29-year-old second-year player has been a serviceable innings-eater for the Reds’ devastated starting rotation this year. He has a 5-7 record with a 4.96 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 17 starts and one relief appearance. He lines up for starts against the Indians and Marlins next week.
Tomlin allowed three runs over 7 1/3 innings Monday in a win over the Giants. Tomlin should have lost his rotation spot months ago, but he can still get the job done against opponents like the Padres and Giants. He’s now 3-1 with a 4.56 ERA against the NL this season, compared to 3-8 with a 6.15 ERA versus AL teams. Unfortunately, he’ll get the Blue Jays next time out.
