Freddie Freeman reached base safely in four of his five plate appearances on Thursday in the Braves' win over the Phillies. Freeman kicked off the scoring with a single to left field, which allowed Ozzie Albies to scamper home from second base due to some lackluster fielding from the Phillies, in the opening frame. He also singled to right field, swiped second base -- his sixth theft of the season -- and scored later on in the third inning. He also walked in both the seventh and ninth innings of this one. The 31-year-old All-Star first baseman has been tearing the cover off the ball, hitting .417 (25-for-60) with five homers and two steals across 16 games since July 1.

Didi Gregorius tripled and scored a run on Thursday in the Phillies' loss to the Braves. Gregorius attempted to ignite a late rally by smacking a leadoff triple against righty Charlie Morton in the seventh inning. He wound up crossing the plate, giving the Phillies their first run of the one-sided contest, on an RBI double from ensuing batter Odúbel Herrera. The 31-year-old shortstop has gotten off to a frosty start at the dish coming out of the All-Star break, collecting just four hits in 25 at-bats across seven games.
