Diamondbacks’ Corbin allows four runs over six innings in loss
Patrick Corbin picked up a loss on Sunday while allowing four runs in six innings against the Braves. Corbin allowed six hits and one walk, and he struck out just three. A disappointing final start of the first half for Corbin, who has been outstanding for the majority of his starts in 2018. He still takes a strong 3.24 ERA into the All-Star break, and he’s struck out an impressive 149 hitters in 122 1/3 innings.
Cubs’ Farrell to make spot start vs. D-Backs on Monday
Luke Farrell will make a spot start for the Cubs on Monday against the Diamondbacks. The 27-year-old right-hander has pitched fairly well, registering a 3.86 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 37/14 K/BB ratio over 28 innings with the Cubs this season. He isn’t a recommended streaming option against a high-powered Diamondbacks’ offense though.
MLB Betting Trends
Arizona
The Diamondbacks have won 14 of their last 19 games on the road.
Chicago
The Cubs are 15-5 in their last 20 games overall.
Prediction:
The pitching matchup is in favor of the Diamondbacks tonight but I’m going to roll with the hotter team. The Cubs are 17-8 in their last 25 home games versus the Diamondbacks and are 11-5 in their last 16 games versus Arizona overall. Chicago is also 17-4 in its last 21 games versus a left-handed starter, is 4-1 in its last five games against the National League West, and is 39-13 in its last 52 home games versus a left-handed starter.
The Pick: Chicago Cubs -105
