According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Mets are -135 money line favorites versus the A’s, who have odds of +115 to pull off the upset. With Daniel Gossett set to face Rafael Montero in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9.5 runs.

From Rotoworld: Gossett fell to 1-5 after allowing three runs in seven innings Monday against the Rays. One wonders if the A’s might have gone back to Jesse Hahn had Gossett struggled tonight; he had given up 13 runs over 14 1/3 innings in his previous three starts. While he was able to stop the bleeding tonight, he did surrender two more homers tonight, bringing his season total to 10 allowed in 37 1/3 innings. He remains a poor bet going forward.
Montero allowed four runs — two earned — over six innings in a loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday. Montero appeared to be in for a long night after allowing four runs through his first two innings of work, but he settled down to register a quality start despite taking the loss. The right-hander gave up seven hits and a walk while striking out five in the start. With the loss, Montero fell to 1-6 with a 5.40 ERA and 1.82 WHIP in 45 innings this season. The 26-year-old will next take on the Athletics in an interleague matchup on Sunday.
OUR PREDICTION: The over is a perfect 6-0 in the last six meetings between these two teams and is 4-0 in the last four meetings in New York. The over is also 55-27-11 in the Mets’ last 93 games overall, is 31-14-6 in their last 51 home games, and is 4-0 in their last four interleague home games. On the other side, the over is 5-2 in the A’s last seven games and 12-5-1 in their last 18 road contests.
SUNDAY MLB PREDICTION: A’S/METS OVER 9.5
