Rangers in a free fall
Texas is on a seven-game losing streak right now after getting swept in Houston this past weekend. The Rangers are 50-49 on the season, 19-28 on the road and 50-47 with the under. Texas has Adrian Sampson on the mound today. He is 6-6 on the year with a 4.92 ERA.
The Rangers are putting up 5.27 runs per game this season at the plate while hitting .249 from the plate. On the mound, Texas has a 5.05 team ERA with a 1.45 team WHIP. Nomar Mazara has been leading the team with 20 doubles, 13 home runs and 52 RBI. Elvis Andrus is adding 19 doubles, eight home runs, 49 RBI and 21 stolen bases.
Mariners struggling
Seattle has lost eight of its last nine games after suffering a pair of losses to the Angels this weekend. The Mariners are 40-62 on the season, 20-31 at home and 64-34 with the over. Seattle has Marco Gonzales getting the start this evening. He has a 10-8 record with a 4.48 ERA.
The Mariners have struggled on the mound this season, posting a 5.35 team ERA with a 1.44 team WHIP. At the plate, Seattle averages 4.93 runs per game while hitting .242 as a team. Domingo Santana is leading the team with 19 doubles, 19 home runs and 65 RBI while Daniel Vogelbach has 11 doubles, 23 home runs and 57 RBI.
MLB Betting Trends
Texas
The Rangers are just 1-7 in their last eight road games and 0-5 in their last five division games.
Seattle
The Mariners are 19-40 in their last 59 games following a loss and 9-28 in their last 37 AL West games.
Prediction:
Both teams are struggling, but the Rangers have played the Astros in five of their seven losses. Seattle has struggled with the Angels. Seattle has Gonzales on the mound tonight and he has actually struggled at home, posting a 5.46 ERA over 10 starts. Sampson has been a little inconsistent and struggles on the road, but I believe Texas is the better team. I think the Rangers will snap out of their funk by playing against a team that is a mess right now.
MLB Prediction: Texas Rangers +100
