From Rotoworld: Pivetta was hammered for nine runs over five innings in a loss to the Brewers on Friday. Pivetta struck out the first four batters he faced before coming unglued in the second inning. The Brewers plated eight runs in the frame, including a three-run homer from Orlando Arcia and a grand slam off the bat of Ryan Braun. The 24-year-old has shown flashes of excellence at times, but he’s sporting a 5.63 ERA through 12 starts with 14 homers and 31 walks in 64 innings.
Straily (thumb) is expected to be fine to make his scheduled start Wednesday. Straily bruised his right thumb when he got jammed during an at-bat in his last outing, but he threw his regular between-starts bullpen session with no issues. He’ll carry a 3.32 ERA into Wednesday’s matchup with Philly.
