Atlanta Braves Fantasy Spin
Freddie Freeman went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer and a walk on Monday to help the Braves to a 4-2 win over the Brewers. Freeman’s homer broke a scoreless affair with two runners on, and it came off of Adrian Houser in the fourth inning. The All-Star first baseman has his 25th homer of the season, and he’s driven in 74 runs in 95 games. He also drew a walk, and Freeman’s slash improves to .302/.388/.582 on the year. You already knew this, but Freeman can flat-out hit, and should continue to do so as long as hen stay healthy over these final 60-plus games.
Milwaukee Brewers Fantasy Spin
Keston Hiura went 3-for-4 with a double, triple and RBI on Monday in a loss to the Braves. Hiura was one of the few Milwaukee hitters who had any success against the Atlanta pitching staff on Monday. The double is the fourth since his promotion(s), and the triple was the first of his big league career. In 31 games, Hiura is slashing .299/.359/.556 with eight homers and 16 RBI. These numbers would likely be even better if not for his silly demotion in June.
MLB Betting Trends
Atlanta
The Braves are 4-0 in their last four games coming off a win.
Milwaukee
The Brewers are 19-7 in Woodruff’s last 26 starts and are 11-1 in his last 12 outings at home.
Prediction:
Despite the Brewers being profitable when Woodruff takes the hill, I can’t back a Milwaukee team that has struggled for weeks. The Brewers are just 1-5 in their last six games overall, are 2-5 in their last seven games coming off a loss and are winless in their last seven games when facing a right-handed starter. The Braves, meanwhile, are 4-1 in their last five games versus the Brewers, are 22-8 in their last 30 road games and have won 40 out of their last 57 games overall. Atlanta is also 36-17 in its last 53 games when facing a righty.
The Pick: Atlanta Braves +144
