MLB Betting Trends
Houston
The Astros are 22-5 in the last 27 Verlander road starts. Houston is 8-3 in its last 11 games overall.
Texas
The Rangers are 7-20 in their last four game fours of a series. Texas is 8-2 in its last 10 games versus a right-handed starting pitcher.
Prediction:
Verlander might be giving up a ton of home runs this season, but he’s still proven to be a dominant pitcher at age 36. He gets a little extra time off due to the break, though he did start the All-Star Game. I’m thinking he has a plenty strong performance here to get the job done as Houston should get to Jurado early and often. The high over-under is indicative of the Rangers’ starting pitcher plus their offensive-friendly stadium. Definitely siding with the Astros here.
