Atlanta Braves Fantasy Spin
Ronald Acuna slugged a solo homer in the Braves’ extra-inning victory over the Padres on Saturday. Acuna belted a majestic 404-foot game-tying solo homer — his 23rd round-tripper of the season — off Padres reliever Craig Stammen with two outs in the seventh inning. It was his lone hit in six at-bats in the extra-inning affair. The 21-year-old sensation is riding a seven-game hitting streak and has also left the yard three times in his last four games. That’ll do.
San Diego Padres Fantasy Spin
Manny Machado went 2-for-5 with a pair of solo homers in the Padres’ extra-inning loss to the Braves on Saturday. Machado scorched a line-drive, 413-foot solo shot to left field off Braves starter Julio Teheran in the first inning and later walloped an opposite-field shot off Braves stopper Luke Jackson in the 10th inning. It was his fourth multi-homer effort of the season. The 27-year-old superstar shortstop has gone deep in back-to-back games and is up to 23 long balls on the season. It took awhile for Machado to heat up, but he’s delivered for fantasy owners in recent weeks. He’s hitting .273/.343/.516 with 55 runs scored, 61 RBI and a pair of stolen bases in 382 plate appearances.
MLB Betting Trends
Atlanta
The Braves are 11-4 in their last 15 road games.
San Diego
The Padres are 1-5 in their last six games following a loss.
Prediction:
The Braves are 15-3 in Soroka’s last 18 starts and have won nine of his last 11 outings on the road. Atlanta is also a perfect 12-0 in Soroka’s last 12 starts when he faces a team with a losing record and is 8-0 in his last eight road outings when facing an opponent with a losing record. On the other side, the Padres have dropped six of their last eight games against the Braves and are winless in their last six home games.
The Pick: Atlanta Braves -148
