Brewers’ Anderson pulled in fifth inning of last start
Chase Anderson surrendered an unearned run and eight hits over 4 2/3 innings Monday against the Marlins. Anderson was in trouble at every turn tonight and was incredibly fortunate to escape without allowing an earned run. It’s safe to say a better lineup would have done some real damage against him in this one. Anderson owners should thank their lucky stars that his off night came against a lesser team.
Pirates’ Nova allows three runs in win over Nationals
Ivan Nova yielded three runs over 5 2/3 innings Monday in a win over the Nationals. It wasn’t the cleanest outing from Nova, who surrendered eight hits — including two homers — but he got six runs of support from the Bucs’ offense to earn his fifth win of the season. The 31-year-old right-hander struck out five and issued zero walks, and now has a 76/17 K/BB ratio in 98 innings this season. Though his 4.50 ERA leaves a lot to be desired. Up next for Nova is a tough home matchup against the Brewers
