Hamilton robs homer in win
Cincinnati center fielder Billy Hamilton climbed the wall and robbed a home run in a highlight reel catch to help preserve a 3-1 lead en route to a 9-1 victory at the Cardinals. Matt Harvey threw five innings to earn the win, giving up one earned run on four hits with five strikeouts and two walks. Jose Peraza was 3-for-5 with a double and a run from the top of the order. Scooter Gennett hit a solo home run in four at-bats. Eugenio Suarez finished 3-for-5 with three doubles and two runs. Jesse Winker went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run and three RBIs. Dilson Herrera also contributed with a pinch-hit 3-run homer.
Molina drives in lone run
St. Louis catcher Yadier Molina went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Friday night's loss. Paul DeJong was 1-for-4 and scored the run. Marcell Ozuna and Carlos Martinez had the only other hits for the hosts. Martinez took the loss as he allowed three earned runs on six hits in five innings, striking out four and walking two.
MLB Betting Trends
The over is 17-5-2 in the last 24 Reds games overall. Cincinnati is 10-25 in its last 35 Saturday games.
The Cardinals are 17-5 in the last 22 meetings. The under is 6-2 in Flaherty's eight home starts.
Flaherty has slowed down a bit over the last month, but is still a promising young fixture in the Cards rotation. The same was said for Castillo last season and nothing has really changed, but he is enduring a difficult sophomore season. St. Louis has been up and down offensively this season, but typically after a poor output it follows it up with a solid game especially on its home field. Go with St. Louis here.
