Cincinnati Reds Fantasy Spin
Eugenio Suarez clobbered a solo homer in the Reds’ loss to the Rockies on Friday. Suarez sliced an opposite-field dinger into the right-field corner off Rockies starter Jon Gray to put the Reds ahead 2-1 in the seventh inning. It was his 21st round-tripper of the season and his fifth long ball in eight games since June 30. The 27-year-old third baseman doesn’t run, but he’s one of the safest four-category investments in fantasy baseball these days. He’s on pace for his second consecutive 30-homer, 100-RBI campaign. That’ll do.
Colorado Rockies Fantasy Spin
Daniel Murphy went 3-for-4 with a go-ahead solo homer and a pair of RBI to lead the Rockies to a 3-2 comeback win over the Reds on Friday. Murphy put the Rockies on the board with a game-tying RBI double to left field in the sixth inning and also delivered a go-ahead solo shot to right field off Reds reliever David Hernandez in the eighth inning. The 34-year-old veteran struggled through an injury-marred first-half, but appears to be rounding into form, going deep twice in his last three games. He’s hitting .283/.335/.471 with 27 runs scored, eight home runs, 46 RBI and one stolen base in 246 plate appearances.
MLB Betting Trends
Cincinnati
The Reds are 1-4 in their last five games versus National League West opponents.
Colorado
The Rockies are 16-5 in Kyle Freeland’s last 21 home starts.
Prediction:
The Reds have won five of Roark’s last seven road starts whereas the Rockies have dropped six of seven overall. They’re also just 1-4 in their last five games versus a right-handed starter and have dropped four out of their last five games coming off a win. With the Rockies struggling, the Reds offer bettors good value tonight on the money line.
The Pick: Cincinnati Reds +100
