Yankees’ German solid in no-decision vs. Blue Jays
Domingo German allowed one run in six innings in a no decision against the Blue Jays on Sunday. He allowed four hits, and he walked two while striking out five. German shut down the Blue Jays’ offense for the first five innings, but a solo shot by Kendrys Morales ended the shutout and kept German from factoring in the decision. It’s a nice rebound from his struggles in his previous two starts, and it lowers his ERA on the season to 5.06. German will get another start against the Indians on Friday before the All-Star break.
Indians’ Bieber allows four runs in six innings in loss to A’s
Shane Bieber allowed four runs in six innings with seven strikeouts in a loss to the Athletics on Sunday. Bieber only walked one, but he allowed eight hits on Sunday; including a two-run homer by Stephen Piscotty. The right-hander has impeccable control, but he might be finding too much of the strike zone at times. The four-run outing ups Bieber’s ERA to 3.47, and his 36/6 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 36 innings is very impressive. There are things to work on however, as seen in the fact that he’s allowed 15 hits over his last two starts in 12 innings.
MLB Betting Trends
New York
The Yankees are a perfect 7-0 in their last seven games versus the Indians.
Cleveland
The Indians have lost five of their last six games overall.
Prediction:
The over is 28-7-2 in the Indians’ last 37 home games, which is incredible. As I mentioned in the intro, the over has been one of the best bets in baseball when Cleveland plays at home. The over is also 4-1-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams and is 3-1-1 in the last five meetings in Cleveland, including last night despite Luis Severino taking on Corey Kluber in the pitching matchup. Finally, the over is 7-3 in Gabe Morales’ last 10 games behind home plate in Cleveland.
The Pick: Yankees/Indians over 9.5
