Yankees moving along
The Yankees are coming off back-to-back wins in Toronto and they have won four of their last five games. New York is 58-29 overall and 25-16 on the road. The Yankees are putting up 5.13 runs per game this season while allowing 3.79 per contest.
C.C. Sabathia gets the start in the opener today. He has pitched in 16 games and has a 6-3 record with a 3.02 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. Sabathia has pitched a total of 89.1 innings this year and has 71 strikeouts with 24 walks.

Jimmy Yacabonis gets the start for the Orioles in Game 1. He has appeared in just three games this year and has one start. He hasn’t recorded a decision and has an 8.53 ERA with a 2.37 WHIP. He has pitched 6.1 innings and allowed six earned runs with six walks and six strikeouts.
MLB Betting Trends
New York
The Yankees have won five of Sabathia’s last seven starts overall and 17 of his last 25 starts against AL East opponents.
Baltimore
The Orioles have lost nine of their last 10 Monday games and 28 of their last 38 series openers.
Prediction:
It’s hard to see the Orioles having success in this opener. Yacabonis has been a dumpster fire on the mound in his limited action and that is likely to force the ball into Baltimore’s bullpen early, which won’t produce good results either. Sabathia is actually pitching pretty well this season and he shouldn’t have any trouble working past the Orioles.
The Pick: New York Yankees -220
