From Rotoworld: Chavez allowed two earned runs, four hits and two walks with three strikeouts over five innings in a loss Sunday against the Mariners. Chavez threw just 56 of his 96 pitches for strikes and he failed to last longer than 5 2/3 innings for the third straight outing and fifth time in the past six starts. On a positive note, he was able to lower his ERA for the second straight outing. He’ll look to get back into the win column Saturday in Texas.
Ross surrendered four runs on four hits over five innings while taking a no-decision in Sunday’s loss to the White Sox. Ross allowed a solo home run to Melky Cabrera in the first inning, with the other three runs on his line scoring in the third. He struck out three while walking five in the uneven outing. The veteran right-hander will bring an unwieldy 6.41 ERA and 1.32 WHIP (four starts) into a home date with the Angels in his final outing before the Rangers hit the All-Star break.
