Aguilar, Saladino lead way to win

A five-run third inning including a 2-run home run by Tyler Saladino and a 3-run homer from Jesus Aguilar Friday night as the Brewers secured a 5-4 home win over the Braves. The big inning gave Milwaukee a 5-1 lead, while three runs in the seventh brought Atlanta to within a run. Aguilar finished the contest 3-for-4 with a double plus the home run, while Saladino contributed the homer in three at-bats. Freddy Peralta improved to 4-1 with a 2.14 ERA as the rookie allowed one earned run on three hits with six strikeouts and three walks over six innings. Corey Knebel pitched the ninth, giving up one hit and striking out one for his 11th save.

Markakis has three-hit night

Braves right fielder Nick Markakis finished 3-for-4 with a run scored in Friday's loss, the Braves' fourth defeat in a row. Ender Inciarte and Kurt Suzuki were both 0-for-2, but each walked twice and scored a run. Ronald Acuna Jr. was 1-for-3 with an RBI, but left the game with a groin injury in the seventh. Dansby Swanson finished 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs. Mike Foltynewicz took the loss as he gave up five earned runs on six hits with seven strikeouts and no walks over six innings.

Anibal Sanchez (3-2, 2.89 ERA) will start today for the Braves, while the Brewers will go with Aaron Wilkerson (0-0, 15.00).

MLB Betting Trends

The over is 14-4 in the last 18 Braves road games. The over is 10- in the last 13 Atlanta games following a loss.

The Brewers are 27-11 in their last 38 home games. The over is 7-2-1 in the last 10 Milwaukee games overall.

Atlanta has struggled against two tough road opponents, but it's body of work over the first half of the season holds more weight for me. The Braves should have the pitching advantage here as Sanchez has been solid since joining the rotation. Look for Atlanta to bust out offensively and carve out a victory.
